Chambers Programme for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
We are in the process of developing a programme that will set a gold standard for excellence for our Chambers members. It will include several features that will set it apart – and above – other professional CPD programmes:
– We set an extremely high standard for hours and variety of content
– We will work to a three-year cycle which is a more effective timeframe for learning and development, reflecting the cyclical nature of professional and personal development
– The CPD qualifying activities cover four distinct areas:
- active learning
- reflective learning
- reflective practice and
- contribution to the profession
It also includes marketing activities. Marketing requires an understanding of the individual mediator’s strengths and also provides the him or her with insights into the needs and perspective of our users.
There are two main aims:
- to provide a relevant and workable structure for an exceptional standard
- to demonstrate the capacity of leading mediators to manage their learning and professional development well beyond the highest standards required of them by any professional organisation.
