Merger of two professional practices

Background

Two professional practices, which had operated alongside each other under the same branding for a number of years, were aiming to merge.  There was a need to facilitate conversations between the partners of the two practices over how the merger was to happen including, for example, discussions over remuneration structures, governance, etc.

Outcome

The practices were merged successfully.  Post-merger the mediator was brought back to help work through a further dispute arising from a proposal to relocate the partnership’s head office. Those in the head office felt that their voices were not being heard.
