Sir Alan Ward has been appointed as Chairman of the Civil Mediation Council in succession to Sir Henry Brooke, who has been awarded the Slynn Prize 2012 for his contribution to the development of mediation.
Jon Siddall has been appointed the first Chief Executive of the Civil Mediation Council. He has significant board level experience gained principally in the not for profit and charity sectors. He trained as a lawyer and an accredited mediator.
He is currently Director (and Secretary) of the Commercial Education Trust. CET is a charity originally established by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is a grant making body which considers applications from educational, training and other institutions to fund projects which promote innovation in commercial education.
Prior to that Jon was Chief Executive (and Secretary) to the Landaid Charitable Trust, and up to 2006 was Executive Director (and Secretary) to the then Sports Dispute Resolution Panel.
