We are delighted to announce that we have launched an Irish arm of our expert panel of mediators in Dublin today (1st February 2018). Based in Dublin, Tim Bouchier-Hayes and Denise O’Connor will be available to mediate a wide range of commercial disputes throughout Ireland. Tim Bouchier-Hayes, who is widely recognised and respected as Ireland’s most experienced and expert construction lawyer has recently retired from his practice at McCann Fitzgerald and will now be focusing on helping commercial parties find cost-effective and confidential solutions to their disputes. Denise O’Connor, whose professional legal career has spanned the Irish Sea, has a strong background in all manner of insurance disputes and is well-known in the UK and Irish insurance markets. Our UK based mediators will also be available for selection by parties mediating in Ireland.
Mark Jackson-Stops, Head of Chambers, says: “There are many similarities between the legal markets in London and Dublin and we saw an opportunity to offer IPOS’s highly respected and effective mediators and administrative service to the Irish legal market. The fact that the Mediation Act has now come into effect in Ireland also ensures that mediation, as a highly effective and sensible means by which to settle a dispute, should be actively considered by all parties to a dispute. IPOS prides itself on being able to make the process of setting up a mediation as easy as possible by advising on choice of mediator, booking the venue and, where necessary, mediating between the parties to agree mediator, venue and date!
