44 law schools teams assembled in Paris from 5th -10th February 2010 to compete in the annual moot competition organised by ICC's Amicable Dispute Resolution Department which gathers teams and professionals from around the world. Law schools represented 18 countries, only two of which came from the UK.Almost 100 professionals, including In Place of Strife's Mark Jackson-Stops, featured as judges and mediators in seven mock cases which tested law students as party representatives in mediation.Mark Jackson-Stops, just back form Paris, said: " The quality of students was remarkable and I was especially impressed by those for whom English is not their mother tongue. I am greatly heartened that the new generation of lawyers coming through law schools around the world are being trained to approach disputes in a spirit of collaboration. Many will be outstanding advisers to their future clients when representing them in mediation."
