Rebecca has been mediating full time with IPOS for 7 years, and is described as a calm and authoritative presence at mediations, with the ability to deftly handle sensitive conversations with grace and empathy whilst not being afraid of providing challenge. With experience in running her own award winning business, heading the disputes team at a bank and being a former city lawyer, she has a unique perspective and exceptional understanding of how and why mediation works.

Rebecca is also known for her thorough and prepared approach, not just in helping the parties achieve settlement on the day, but in guiding the parties before the mediation itself: “Rebecca was all over the detail and well prepared.”.

Rebecca is particularly interested in the benefits and process of mediation, regularly speaking at conferences and providing in-house training to law firms on the psychology of mediation and negotiation – her ‘mediation mind games’ session being one of the most popular training modules we offer: “It was excellent and thought provoking. Rebecca was appointed as the Chair of the Civil Mediation Council in June 2022, putting her at the center of discussions with government, the courts and mediation trainers and providers about the development of mediation. She is also a member of the Court of Appeal specialist mediator panel, and is ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers as a leading mediator in her profession.
